Have you lost your weight loss motivation?
You start off all motivated and ready to go, and then somewhere between the 10th-14th day you begin to lose all that positivity and motivation. The question is…why??
Did the scale not meet your expectations?
Did you eat something and after wished you didn’t?
Did you get tired of feeling restricted?
Did you tell yourself…“there is no point” or “it’s useless”?
Why Your Weight Loss Motivation Disappears
If you said yes to any or all of these, you have a dieter’s mentality.
When you think like a dieter you not only focus on the wrong things, you repeat your self-sabotaging patterns and you lose your motivation because of your own thoughts that you think.
When you lose your weight loss motivation, in essence, you decide to stop caring to continue. What you are telling yourself is that your goals no longer matter.
What might your motivation look like if you told yourself:
“I care about my health.”
“It matters how I feel in my body.”
“It’s important to me to look better.”
Your actions follow your thoughts so the thoughts you think are SO important as you embark on your weight loss journey.
If you’ve ever beaten yourself up for not being able to stay the course don’t be so hard on yourself. Recognize that right now your brain is wired to think like a dieter because of all of those years you spent dieting.
I want to reassure you that this is changeable but you have to give yourself time and grace to allow for the change.
